Ghalib poetry is known more for Love and Wine and relatively less for Life Philosophy. I will start with a verse which actually triggered my interest in his poetry :

Rau mein hai rakhsh-e umar kahaan dekhiye thamay
Na haath baag par hai, na paa hai rakaab mein

Life, like a horse,
is in constant motion; let's see where it halts.
Neither is the hand on the reins, nor is the foot in the stirrup,

i.e., we have no control on life and its events. Perhaps Ghalib is referring to the Divine control and human destiny. (Raksh was the name of the horse used by Rustam, the well-known warrior in Persian history).
